If you experience any issues with M-Files Email Processor you can check Logs window which displays a list of all uncompleted processes (you can select to display completed processes) with all the explanations in detail about why some emails cannot be processed. Moreover, for more technical details about underlying engine you can check Engine Logs tab from Logs window. Possible Issues

Service cannot be started

If you cannot start a service, please check Windows Event Viewer.

Service cannot be started. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Cannot open database “<DATABASE NAME>” requested by the login. The login failed.

Login failed for user ‘<DOMAIN>\<USER>’

In order to solve this error please follow next steps:

  1. Connect to your database
  2. Navigate to Security → Logins
  3. Select NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
  4. In properties window select User Mapping and map login account to database used by M-Files Email Processor and define role membership
